Saw a firefly

How many of us living in city has ever seen a firefly.
Well no wonder nobody of us would have seen it.

I was walking past main playground in IIT today and I saw some small leds lighted and flying. And they were blinking. The whole picture was unforgetable. Even taking a photography would'nt have done justice to it.

I searched internet to know more about it.
This one gives very good information >>

In this fast moving life we have gone so far from nature that it's hard to compensate the same. How much do we think of mother nature? How many times do we thank God for giving us such a beautiful place to live? And do we appreciate the wonders that these small creatures do?

Really it is awesome. Everyday as soon as it gets darker in evening, they start blinking all over in my compound here. Really nice.

Actually I came to know about them when I was in Gadhwaal (somewhere in North India before around 10 years). There was a little guy who had a match box full of firflies. As soon as he opend the match box, they started blinking and flying everywhere. Really amazing effect. I still remember it was just kinda blinking magic stars. Me and my sister baught one box from him with just 5 bucks though he was not ready to give it to us. And then we freed them next night.

LEISURE by William H Davies 1871 - 1940

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.

No time to see, when wood we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet. how they dance.

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.

A poor life this is, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
